Jon grew up with a love of Outback Australia, the Top End especially, however he also spent time exploring Western NSW and QLD, including crossing the Simpson and Tanami Deserts, exploring the Kimberley’s, the Red Centre, Tasmania and many other parts of remote Australia.
Jon is now passing on his love and knowledge of the great outdoors to his two young daughters Chyla and Chloe.
With the purchase of Brookes Tours Jon was able to combine his love of touring the ‘Outback’ with a business venture, sharing his great passion of Australia with many local and overseas visitors.
Jon enjoys working in ‘The Top End’ during the dry season months and showing people this unique landscape from the comfort of his purpose designed 4wd vehicles.
Graeme Hockey arrived in the Northern Territory in 1977 after a number of years in Papua New Guinea.
Graeme spent most of the next 25 years as a pastoral inspector for the Northern Territory Government and has travelled just about every square kilometre of the Northern Territory from private Cattle stations to Aboriginal lands.
Graeme has a wealth of knowledge and hands on experience he has gained from working and living in the Territory.
Graeme started tour guiding in 2003 before joining Brookes Tours back in 2007. As a person who has travelled most of Australia and many overseas countries, he has the unique ability of tailoring his tours to suit clients’ specific interests, his efforts on all of the tours he leads is greatly appreciated by our guests.
After a few days touring with Graeme you can’t help but feel you have lived and experienced the real Top End and have seen it through a local’s eyes.
Graeme brings with him on every tour his collection of NT pastoral maps, reference books, interesting reads and pictures he has collected over the years.
A true gentleman that is happy to share his love of the Northern Territory with all of his guests.
